We have a modern 12 bed Lodge and a separate Studio just a minute’s stroll away
from a safe and sandy beach. Wide verandas provide ideal areas for rest and relaxation.
There is a sunny open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area with full cooking facilities and a
cosy log fire for those cooler evenings.
Bunkrooms
The lodge has two spacious four bed dorm rooms each with two single beds and a set of bunks. Every bed has an alcove by the head of the bed for torch, watch etc, and its own reading light. Linen is available for an extra $5 per person – this is a one-off charge.
Tariff is $33 per person per night or $132 for the whole room. There is a cheaper rate for BBH cardholders.
Double/Twin Rooms
There are two double (queen size bed) or twin (2 separate beds) rooms each with a view of the sea. Bathrooms are shared. Linen is available for an extra $5 per person – this is a one-off charge.
Tariff is $75 per night for the room. There is a cheaper rate for BBH cardholders.
Bathrooms
Showers and toilets adjoin the bedrooms and are shared.
Studio
The Studio is a charming double room set in the bush about 20 metres behind the main lodge. Linen is provided. It is very peaceful and quiet with its own ensuite, and tea and coffee making facilities. The kitchen at the main lodge is available if required.
Tariff is $95 per night for the room for two persons. There is a cheaper rate for BBH cardholders.
Other
Duvets, hairdryers and hot water bottles are available at no charge.

Meals
We serve a home cooked meal every night and there is always a meat choice and a vegetarian choice. All meals are served with a fresh garden salad and a dessert. Much of the fresh produce is home grown here at Mahana, and we source other products locally where ever possible. You can dine on the veranda of the old homestead, picnic on the beach or eat in our comfy dining area in the Lodge. We also have breakfast and lunch packs available. Please let us know early in the day if you would like dinner that night. If you have any special dietary requirements let us know in advance and we will cater for you.
There is a fully equipped kitchen in the Lodge if you prefer to self cater.
Recreation
We have fishing gear, kayaks, a row boat and life jackets available free of charge for the use of our guests. We also have an extensive range of books, games and puzzles to entertain you and there is a good natural history reference library which you are welcome to use. There are hammocks, loungers, deck chairs and picnic tables to ensure your comfort while relaxing outside, and comfy chairs and sofa if you prefer the indoors.
We do not have television.
